Investment casting

By using what is known as the “lost-wax method”, it is possible to cast items with
high precision. Several layers of a special sand are applied to a shape made of wax. The sand-covered wax is then baked in a furnace to create a finished mould and to melt out all the wax. For very small tolerances, this method is used to produce cast items whose dimensions can subsequently be further processed.

It is a method that opens up for a host of opportunities for various types of design. It is also cost-effective even for small batches on account of the relatively low tool costs.
